I found this discussion interesting and I'm wondering what y'all think.

I would also add that a diversity of tactics is important because it appeals to a diverse group of people.

We don't need to argue over whether a given tactic, punching Nazis for example, is good or bad. Some people will like it and some people won't. We just have to find other tactics that appeal to the ones that don't.

Encouraging the anti-authoritarian behavior people already engage in is a good start.

Personally, I think I agree. It's not about the ideology, it's about the actions we take. Good tactics sell themselves regardless of how people identify politically.

Centrism is not the answer, it upholds the status quo which benefits those on top just as much as the right does.

Also, allying with the right never works, even with those who happen to also be on the bottom of the hierarchy. Because they don't see themselves as being on the bottom, they think they are temporarily embarrassed millionaires who belong on top. Also, a lot of them are fascists. Don't ally with fascists.

I see this saying all the time and I think it's flawed. The second sentence I don't have a problem with, but to say that there's not also a left/right divide there, I think is to misunderstand the nature of the left/right divide.

See, the left prioritizes the well being of those on the bottom. They want to end the hierarchy. The right prioritizes the well being of those on top. They want to uphold the hierarchy. If you are on the bottom, or care for those on the bottom, you should be a leftist.
