@AnthonyJK These guys? Really? I never would have guessed...
I was kind of hoping that nobody would end up joining Threads, but I can imagine the sort of (bad) crowds accounts like this would bring with them

@NettoHikari It can be irritating sometimes.
And I feel like I'm really missing out on some stuff looking at https://akkoma.social/#secondary-features
It seems to me that Mastodon is designed as more of a 'microbloggong' platform while others (say, Misskey) are more like a general platform for social interaction within a group
@NettoHikari And the fact that they officially support (in terms of documentation) more than just Debian-based Linux distros.
Is there anything that those installation docs *don't* cover? :blobcataww:
@NettoHikari 'Mastodon' refers to a genus of probosicdeans with trunks, presumably allowing them to produce an - onomatopoetically-described - 'toot'.
'Pleroma' may either refer to a South American flower or to a theistic idea of the 'totality of divine powers' (coming from an old Greek word).
Perhaps a name for Pleroma posts could relate to 'filling the empty', 'completing the incomplete'; the idea of fulfillment, completeness or of that which has been completed.
@NettoHikari You might want to make some slight grammatical changes (though then again, 'Pleroma' is a [possibly anglicized] derivative form anyway), but I believe you could even just call a post a 'pleroma', referring to the result of an/the act of fulfillment (Like you finished composing it and are ready to publish it, I guess?)
she/herLearned Lojban before I learned predicate logicI have lots of interests and post about some sometimesSorry if I mess up social stuff I'm still learning (I think I've pretty much got everything down if I think hard enough and I'm not too tired). The stuff in the pragmatics textbooks mostly seemed normal to me so I'm probably fineEverything I post is waay too long so one day I should move somewhere with a higher char limit
