It's basically impossible for Democrats to make any meaningful headway with Trump and Republican voters.

On the other hand, it's extremely doable for Democrats to win back voters by tackling economic problems -- remember that 60% of Americans can't afford a minimal quality of life -- and by championing issues like abortion rights. There is considerable overlap between these groups, too!

Guess where Democrats put all their energy, though.

Democrats don't try to win over Republican voters because they think it's good politics. They just like and agree with Republicans more than the rest of us.

Ever since they got sucker-punched by Reagan, Democrats have been chasing white conservative validation, to the point where most Democrats are just Republicans from 20 years ago.

There's a thought that's been percolating in my head about how readily people believe fake "AI" shit has value and LLMs can be "conscious" and "alive" even though they're clearly not and their equal refusal to grant trans people any form of acceptance or validation whatsoever.

Trans people, for example, are a tiny group of people whose medical needs are inexpensive and easily served as an adjunct to cis people's healthcare, the science backs up our identities and our participation in gendered spaces and activities, our presence is not disruptive in any way, and for the most part, we go largely unnoticed by the rest of society.

"Gets to be fully human" is the crux of the problem, in part because it would also require validating the humanity and equality of cis women.

When you understand that the bone of contention usually comes down to "who gets to be considered fully human," you cut through a lot of the obfuscating bullshit in the way.

What's funny about these guys is they have some of the easiest, most lucrative scams in the country already, like health insurance, they have massive conglomerate monopolies for almost every food or household product, and that just wasn't enough for them. They are running up against the fact that most Americans just don't have any money to give them anymore, and so they're going to destroy the systems that enable the country to keep functioning, which undergird their entire profit scheme.

The ultra-wealthy, in their crusade to scammify everything to squeeze a few extra dollars out of us, have funded and amplified anti-science, anti-health groups and fascist hate groups who promise to do away with our remaining social welfare and legal protections so the rich can finish grinding us all into paste. American fascism would never be this powerful without the dick pill guys and "AI" losers bankrolling them.

There's no reason for any world leader to meet Trump at the White House. He just wants to humiliate people.

Every advance in missile defense is countered by an increase in attack capability because no one wants their nuclear deterrent to be useless.

Every advance in this regard therefore brings us closer to nuclear war.

Indeed, the entire purpose of SDI or "Golden Dome" technologies is to allow the US to use nuclear weapons with impunity, safe from reprisal.

And everyone knows that.

Attack is cheap, defense is expensive.

Attack is easy, defense is hard.

You can always overwhelm the system with more missiles, decoys, and countermeasures.

Shooting down regular missiles is hard enough as it is. Patriot had a 5% success rate and Israeli propaganda aside, analysis suggests its Iron Dome is little better even over a tiny area.

Shooting down ICBMs and hypersonic missiles is orders of magnitude more difficult and requires global coverage.

We know this won't work. We know this can't work.
