Of all the things Elon Musk has done, please do not forget this one.
He deliberately chose not to end world hunger. Every person who died of hunger since then can be attributed to him. That is a mind-boggling number.

Since we all know that Republicans are really bad at grade-school arithmetic, you can help them out by creating a ratio:
140 ÷ 0.23 ≈ 608.695…
So we can say that at least if we go by police injuries per protest, Republicans are 609 times more violent than BLM and Antifa combined.
Ask them what they think should be done to BLM & Antifa in light of all their "violence," and insist that Republicans face 609 times that penalty.

According to police, there were some 2,000 police injuries over the course of 8,700 protests. That comes out to
2000 ÷ 8700 = 0.23 police injuries per protest
According to some reports, there are 140 police injuries on January 6. If you want to use a different number here, feel free to, but almost any number you use is going to produce pretty dramatic results.
January 6 counts as one protest, so that's 140 police injuries per protest.
Now: which is bigger? 0.23 or 140?

Long ago, the US military was organized mostly by branches, and they were set against each other so that none of them would challenge the civilian leadership (the founding fathers were paranoid about them taking over).
Some time ago, there was a major reorganization by region. Each command is responsible for a different region and is made up of all of the branches.
My father was stationed at MacDill AFB when the RDJTF became Centcomm (Middle East & North Africa).

Like most American tech giants, Google is a fascist company.
“De-googling” can sound daunting, but you don’t have to do it all at once. Step one should be abandoning the Google Chrome browser.

Yes, they should be criticized for this, but this would not have happened had the Dems not embraced Israel right as world opinion was turning sharply against it and their genocidal machinations in Gaza.
If you cannot bring yourself to abandon an ally over genocide, you lose the right to complain about anything anyone else does politically.
An unelected billionaire and a handful of techs aged 19-25 have seized control of the US treasury. No one in the mainstream media is talking about this. None of the Democrats are talking about this.
We need 3%—5% of the nation protesting to stop this. The silence of Dems and the media is incredibly damaging.
I am getting so sick and tired of Republicans and the mainstream media acting surprised when Donald Trump deliberately enables corruption, fraud, and/or waste.
Does anyone actually fall for their feigned surprise?

DEI is code for “I am a mediocre white person who probably would not have a job without racism.”

He killed children with his stupidity and delusions of adequacy.
Dear Cybertruck owners,
Nobody likes fascists except for other fascists.
Get used to this kind of treatment. Most of the world now sees you as a Nazi, and that is not going to change.
Heck, there's a good chance history will see **me** as a Nazi simply because I failed to stop you.

…someone complains about racism, they take that to mean “You are not actually a special princess pony because your parents fucked,” which hurts their feelings, and once their feelings get hurt they get agitated, angry, and/or defensive.
Even though the identity politics of Democratic politicians bothers me, I don’t often bring up the topic because there is almost no way I can do so without immediately sounding like a racist fucknozzle.
But that class war shit is important.

…they have the same reasons as the Republicans to keep us talking about culture war stuff instead of class war stuff.
The problem is, the moment I open my mouth and say “identity politics,” I immediately call to mind another group of people who use the same term for a completely different reason.
Racist Republicans and racist Democrats hate identity politics because they don’t want anyone discussing racism. See, racism tells them that they are special princess ponies, and the instant…

“I can’t be racist, I’m a progressive!”
This is going to be a long one, and I’m going to repeat some things I’ve said before.
First, I want to mention that I am one of those assholes who complains about “identity politics.” I think that the Democrats use identity politics to avoid talking about the class war. They don’t want us talking about the class war because they are not on our side in that one.
They may take opposite positions from the Republicans on culture war stuff, but…

This is from the 2016 election, and there are people who complain about some of the details of the methodology of this survey, but it still illustrates some basic points I would like to make.
Notice that Trump supporters are the most racist, and that Bernie supporters are the least racist, but even some Bernie supporters are racist. No one has bragging rights here.
Supporters of H. Clinton, T. Cruz, and Kasich all exhibited similar levels of racism. They are in the ballpark of each other

Although I never explicitly stated it, she picked up that I had a problem with her statements racially-speaking, and her defenses amounted to “How dare you call me racist, I’m a progressive!” and instead of defending the statements she had just made, she proceeded to try and shore up her bonafides as a progressive, as if proving that she is progressive would prove that she is not racist.
That, uh, that is not how any of this works. Although conservatives are more likely to be racist…

About a year ago, I got into an argument with the daughter of an acquaintance. She complained about the fact that so many people were complaining about racism and thought that we needed to talk less about racism.
I pushed her on this, and all of her complaints were about the fact that so many people were talking about racism. She never once brought up class issues, only the fact that she was bothered by so much discussion about racism.
The more I pushed her, the weirder it got.

Because of the class war, life is getting harder and harder for the average white person, and so the right-wing media and the mainstream media have to push more racist buttons to keep everyone distracted from the class war.
Classism is an important engine that drives racism, or at least makes it a lot worse. Smarter people than me have pointed out the link between those two things.
We cannot really solve racism without also solving the class war, which is getting worse and worse.

Studies show that even African-American jurors are more likely to vote to convict if the accused is African-American. If African-Americans have subconsciously absorbed racist bullshit from our racist society to that degree, then none of us can assume that we are free from the influences of racism if we participate in American society/culture.
To even think in terms of “not racist” is to deny the reality of the fucked-up society we all participate in.

I apologize ahead of time for getting any pronouns wrong. If I do, I promise it's not on purpose, I'm just old and slow.I know I'm supposed to be civil, but I make no promises if I interact with any fascists, white supremacists, or other far-right savages. Expect me to say a lot about politics.I'm anticapitalist, but not crazy about Marx's solution.I'm Japanese, Norwegian, and Swedish. I like cooking and nerd stuff.
