It's amazing to me that a 150-mile stretch of Florida's Gulf coast is expecting a surge of more than 8 feet from #Hurricane Milton.

It's really unfair of people to ignore evacuation warnings, putting rescuers in harm's way.

But then, I think it's unjust for a climate change-denying state to ignore signs of global warming and expect the rest of the nation to help them after suffering the inevitable increased storms.

We are a better nation when we take responsibility and think of others.

#FEMA, #Military, and other groups are in place and already on the ground in #Florida and #Georgia. Everything is being expedited.

There is plenty of #aid available for damage and many programs. The limit is NOT $750: that is the amount from the "quick approval" program, and you can apply for more.

Aid is NOT being redirected towards illegal immigrants.

The government is NOT redirecting the storm with space lasers or "Jew magic". I should not have to say that one, but it is not happening.

If you are in #GulfCoast Florida, you have until Noon to get out: storm surge will reach record levels, covering cars and homes.

I am reading the hurricane has reached CAT 5 status and DeSantis has usurped and diverted emergency funding, and people are unable to evacuate due to a gas shortage in some areas.

i don't ever remember seeing a #hurricane take the path #Helene took. i consider it an incredibly abnormal path. to me, it moved more like a tornado.

has anybody come across any commentary, articles or even pre-review papers addressing that?
