StrypeyWhat Eco's essay brought home to me is that fascism is not an ideology. At least not in the sense of a coherent set of philosophies and policies, consistent across all its manifestations.
Rather it's a lionisation of power, in any form, and a set of power-worshipping cultural habits. Habits that adapt themselves to whatever appears to be popular at the time.
