While I now live in an area with reliable cell service, I live in a mountainous, rural, state in the US where cell service is far from guaranteed, so I got rid of mine nearly a decade ago. Now that 2FA is finally becoming common, but most US services are lazy and only support verification via SMS, there are some services I just can't use. At least tech services have OTP.
