valhalla@artcollisions here in Italy we have caffé d'orzo which is a barley (orzo) powder that is dissolved in water, doesn't have anything to do with coffee (caffé), but doesn't feel like an herbal tea either (it's a bit denser than (herbal) tea, but less dense than a hot chocolate).
Also, some people grew up on it (while the adults were drinking coffee) and love it, and other people hate it :D
