wet forest moon folkloristi really can't overstate the silencing impact local covid denial activists had on our public health system. the aggressive large truck convoy, the police department refusing to enforce the assembly's mask mandate, mask protestors in front of borough offices, covid denial bullying on facebook... it all changed local culture so people are afraid to say "covid" let alone actually take any kind of precaution. most people would rather pretend the conflict doesn't exist than stand up to bullies
