clacke@strypey @musicman We didn't see much of Auckland / Tāmaki Makaurau. Waiheke and the ferry there and back was nice, and we enjoyed the spot with the coastal defense battery, also reachable by ferry, where you could see the downtown skyline across the water. We only spent one night there (or was it two?) before our flight home.
We spent most of the rest of our week in Hamilton / Kirikiriroa, except one night in Rotorua where we enjoyed the hot spring bath house, a village with geysers and a guided tour around the lakes with an amphibious bus.
