Second, they're really hammering home the gratitude angle, thanking us over and over for the sacrifices we've made to come to USDS.
Maybe that motivates my colleagues, but not me.
I've spent my entire life outside of work looking for ways to make the world better. Volunteerism has always been a huge part of my life.
I don't need to be thanked for doing that in my job. For me, being able to do this work and get paid for it is a privilege for which I am grateful.
