I guess garry grew up in a parallel universe or something, none of those are no-brainers and never were. Copyrights meant to expire, remix and remake culture exists in gray area, variations of same thing might or might not be copyrighted, you can copyright music piece but can't really copyright chords, some performance of a song might be copyrighted but other not, meanwhile JUST singing some some song out loud is a copyright violation. Mickey Mouse is in public domain but no, not that one, older one, new one is still copyright. Alladin is public domain except Disney's Alladin that specific version yeah that's copyrighted even though it's based on public domain piece of culture.
