clacke@iooioio It's my impression that it's highly specific to the way Erlang operates. Even the way it does area-based memory allocation is dependent on many short-lived isolated processes, so, very idiomatic for Erlang.
But I can't say I've looked at it closely, others are more than welcome to interject and protest.
