zeroI think you could look at it this way: Let them know the world their peers know all about, let them read the books, and watch the movies when old enough. Point out and discuss the negative tropes when they arise.
The discussion of art tainted by artist comes later. In the meantime, just don't give her any money: Get the books and movies from the library.
