Here is a very simple reason: URLs in objects should be unique, there shouldn't be two different objects pointing to same URL. Reason: representations can only point towards one object, that's what a "representation" is, having multiple objects with same URL breaks this constraint.

We accept some of your MRs but as soon as there is a conceptual disagreement you start making a fuss and complain how your MRs are not getting merged even though they are small and trivial.
