It depends, I had some good discussions on fedi, they were opportunties to look more deeply into several topics and make informative posts for anyone reading, it was more than just the game of winning the argument. They were organic rather than discussions about the current thing though, I don't even think I would have ever wanted to argue about Palestine since I don't care.

I feel like that era of fedi is kinda gone, people who liked to have discussions left or don't post much anymore, most leftists and trannies walled themselves off and blocked everyone else, among other things that changed fedi culture
