To add onto this point:

I had @inky (or one of the dozen accounts he has) yesterday favorite a post about me praising Pascal and Ada (use Ada btw) and invited me over to his XMPP room (շնորհակալություն 😄). I discovered he is the creator of https://github.com/vishaps/voc which is an Oberon-2 compiler and heavily invested in the language (voc has dozens of repos with packages made for it + a package manager). I knew about voc, but not about him. One thing lead to another and here I am with my Pidgin setup so far (# ones are IRC, the rest are XMPP). I sure missed Pidgin, it's improved a lot since the Yahoo Messenger days and is pretty convenient actually.

Oh, and I got (actually, still get) to closely follow Uxn/Varvara's creator's works without even realizing that. It's just... wow :) I'll never go back to other social media sites, the experience here is unique
