FediTips has moved!Yeah, a lot of people don't realise that all links on Twitter, Reddit etc automatically flow through shorteners so that they can track who is clicking on what.
Twitter even disguise this by making a link seem original, but it's actually going through a shortener. (If you're on a desktop browser, hover your mouse over a link on Twitter and look in the bottom left corner, you'll see it's always a t.co address.)
