There’s a part of me that also knows that I leaned hard into ‘achieving things’ because that was my way out.
Now that I’m out, what now? Am I really out? I don’t think so.
The specter of ‘you need to do more’ and ‘resting is laziness’ and ‘every moment you’re not achieving things is a wasted moment’ is fully imprinted in my soul.
(It doesn’t mean I have self esteem issues or think I haven’t done ‘enough’. It just means that I always think there’s more to do)
I’m working through this in therapy and I like to laugh about it. But yeah, it’s the single most dominant discourse for me.
