unlike venture funded businesses, we will succeed not when we sell out for huge $$$$ or when we hire tons of people i think we succeed when we manage to demonstrate that infusing ethics and morals into our work are things that can pay a better than living work for whatever no of people we end up working with. and provide a template for others to do the same.
i don't think it makes sense that we have to choose between money and morals, although i have been told i am hopelessly naive. maybe i am.
the difference between the pithy things we believed in in the early 2000s like 'don't be evil' and what we need to do today is: we need to articulate what that means.
'we will be deliberate wrenches in war machines'
