@paulk To be more precise: For home networks, I think ethernet usually runs up to 2.5 Gbit/s and Wifi to ~3 Gbit/s, but they keep adding new standards. I've more or less lost track these days.
USB 3 has a max speed of 5 Gbit/s, so the high end 10 Gbit/s + range is too fast either way. Wifi speeds drop at lower signal quality, which can be a challenge. Ethernet is dependant on cable quality and distance too.
