The problem is this....
The talking heads assume that Iran is concerned about the U.S.'s ability to launch a full scale war and take out the regime, and therefore, assume it won't retaliatile. Trump bought into this. That's why he's playing the "we bombed. It's time for peace" card.
The truth is that the best move Iran could make is attacking US assets as swiftly as possible to call Trumps bluff and force him to decide between (a) entering a regional conflict and destabilize an already shakey US economy and destroying his already weakened domestic political position, or (b) looking like a cuck by not responding to iranian retaliation.
Iran has lived under a wartime economy for 40 years. It will not be easy to destabilize it. Attacking Iran to destabilize it is much like punching yourself in the face.
Trump cannot beat Iran from the air, and neither can Israel. Even worse, if Iran has a bomb, they may use it. If they don't, this pretty much guarantees a sprint to get one.
