My working theory about the lifecycle of the average r/espresso user is as follows:
- rich cishet white man gets addicted to coffee
- he decides to spend a bunch of money on amazing gear and specialty beans to make his addiction seem like a passionate hobby
- he realizes he doesn't actually like espresso so he either switches to basic supermarket beans or to a capsule machine and makes Starbucks-like dessert coffee drinks
