jackcole@kaia Hide-a-bed or sofa bed is very old. We have one that is very old, and will replace without the feature. It's extremely rare that it gets used as a foldout bed. The metal mechanism makes it weigh a ton. And for us with a premium mattress the lines in the mattress where it folds aren't comfortable. But for some circumstances, sure. Just my opinion. YMMV
