In case you’re wondering why ER docs aren’t saying “more business!” when we hear about medicaid cuts, the way dentists are seeing fluoride cuts, it’s because when people don’t have insurance they mostly just don’t pay their ER bill. We staff to the increased volume from people losing primary care access, and take a loss because none of that volume pays.

As an aside, I 100% agree with the dentists. Getting rid of fluoride means harm to patients, and early retirement for dentists.
