My mom's starting to get a bit too militant with her Catholicism 😮💨 hard to be around. I told her that they remind me of the Qanon boomers who are always trying to find hidden meaning in everything to piece together to form a world view that satisfies their own confirmation bias. The self bullshittery is palpable. I get that the real world as it is can be an absolutely uncomfortable and demoralizing place and that people need to sort of lull themselves into a blue pilled trance to get through this thing a little easier, but come on man, you can't bullshit a bullshitter.
