- Embed this noticeWithout Germany and Chancellor Merz facing (instead of dismissing) demands by Poland of reparations for the damages done in WW II, there will be no unified and strong Europe as tensions will keep simmering between both nations. For a solidly united Europe with an identity no longer forged by the past but by common aspirations for the future, the topic of reparations and justice need to be openly spoken about and settled. Sad that Chancellor Merz already missed that opportunity.
