science in the US is done.
(honestly, i saw the writing on the wall during COVID - lotta mistrust, lots of 'disbelief' and undermining)
and no one likes to hear this but we were the world leader. maybe one of our last bastions of achievement.

there is no country... not even the entire EU could absorb even half of our scientists and keep their work going.

there is simply no funding for that. we're talking billions of dollars, every year.
irreplaceable, and now, GONE
