The "if you don't like it, just fork it" mantra is another incredibly short sighted and toxic mindset of the FOSS "community".

If you've watched the FOSS space for any length of time, you would know that there's been probably less than a dozen well known projects whose forks became better known and more widespread used than their original. There's never going to motivation for people to migrate to a fork for "political" reasons when the majority of the projects core maintainers continue to support absolute fuckheads.

We can demand that toxic fuckheads be driven out - it's the far more direct pathway than "let's fork all these projects and try to migrate entire developer and user and donation frameworks to a whole new space just because people won't kick out a single Nazi".
