i shouldn't say "in my opinion" while expressing my opinion, it is implied that everything i say is my opinion, by default, unless i provide a source or evidence.

likewise i shouldn't have to say "i think you should..." or "i think you shouldn't...", i'll just say "do" or "do not". i'm not in any position of authority, i'm just trying to express my thoughts while on a character budget.

the soft cushion-y language means the same thing as the direct one, it only sounds more polite.
