I'm reading Joseph M. Williams', Style: Towards Clarity and Grace. It shows how the same information can become unintelligible when we violate certain rules compared to when we follow them. I'm on chapter 2 and till now the discussion has been very illuminating.
When reading classical literature, sometimes I am unable to understand certain passages. I always blamed myself for it, thinking my English is not good enough. Now I know to look for these patterns in the text before I blame myself. 😅
