@ada basically when you upgrade one package but not its dependencies pacman will look at the situation and go like. hmmmm. amogus requires package libsus and it seems you have it installed, all good. when in reality amogus requires libsus 69.0.0 and you only have libsus 5.0.1. or maybe you’re updating libsus and the amogus you havei nstalled needs libsus 5.0.1 but you’re updating libsus to 69.0.0 and amogus fucking doesn’t work anymore.

Debian doesn’t have this issue
