@sickburnbro some schools still did what was sometimes called "leveling" into the 80s, identifying and pushing the smart kids forward, but that's about as late as i can see
it's degenerated into a sort of self-selection into AP classes and the like, but for best effect, this needs to start in like 5th grade
what few "gifted" programs are left have degenerated into nonsense
irritatingly, this has also resulted in a downgrade in the quality of teachers available
if all you're doing is corralling Fledgling Economic Units, shit, might as well phone it in
or better yet find some other work, let the 103 IQs do this scutwork
