#SingleMother has been fingered by feminists to be a problematic term. In their self-absorbed minds it puts the blame on these mothers. That cannot be, of course. The blame should be with men. So they came up with a convoluted alternative.
They ignore the fact that courts mostly favor the mother, that she often takes her revenge by keeping him away from the children and that the man often looses everything. That's not 'leaving' that's being cast aside.
