The problem with christianity is that it traps people in a perpetual state of childish helplessness — shifting all responsibility to god, declaring that whatever happens is 'god’s will,' and branding any attempt at independent thought or self-determination as sinful hubris. The only acceptable posture becomes one of submission: get in line, kneel humbly before the church, the bible, the deity — and relinquish your own agency, capability, and responsibility.
