    today I compiled bash 3.2.57
    yes, from 2007
    because that's what gets shipped by Apple on the latest OSX (for Intel, at least)
    and some of my colleagues use OSX, and use bash libraries I wrote
    which of course didn't support a bash version old enough to vote!
    now there's enough support that those colleagues can work
    but WTF, Apple? :omya_apple:
