- Embed this noticeWe talked about the impact crater Tycho which is the bright one in the lower right quadrant of the picture...with lots of debris rays flowing outward from it. This is a sign that it is a younger crater with it's debris laying on top of older surface features.
The crater Copernicus is on the left central area...with a smaller debris field. It's surrounded by Darker colored surface features called Mare..which are magma flows from early in the moons formation.
