I cannot stress this enough tho - Elon Musk, as you understand him, simply does not exist without US govt subsidies and contracts. In 2012 that guy was worth 2.5B dollars; which is absolutely "rich" but not "I am going to buy the political process of multiple Pig Empire nations simultaneously" rich.

The guy doesn't "sell cars" or "invent shit" - he got rich by taking in government contracts, converting that guaranteed investment into excitement about his stocks, and shucking carbon credits.
