I honestly rarely want to hear celebrity takes on politics in any particular depth bc u realize none of the qualities they are financially rewarded for having have anything to do with developing robust politics?
These people are most often just paid to be hot and seem cool. At best they've got talent but talent is no guarantee of the kind of critical thinking you need to have to align yourself properly with the people.
So idk I don't mind Chappell Roan saying she's not massively jazzed about Kamala and then saying no comment going forward lol. I don't want a dissertation from her I want good music. She's a musician not a theorist. An entertainer, not a revolutionary.
How many revolutionaries do you know that started out their political program by saying "first I need to have a massively successful music career to become really famous and have a lot of money, then it's time to overthrow the rich-OH WAIT"
Ijs. It's not real important to me to hear their takes that as likely as not some PR firm writes for them. I thought the whole point was to be ANTI capitalist like let's dig a lil deeper there friends
