Another fucked thing about the whole DOGE destruction of US Federal science, research, regulations, etc. is that a lot of this sort of thing will take a few years for the impacts to be large enough for normies to notice. And by then it will be far too late. The brain drain will be long since finished. It would be a work of a decade and trillions of dollars to even begin to rebuild it all. They're playing Jenga with the country, and trying to time it so the tower falls down only after they've looted all the pieces they want.
