I talked to a good friend on the phone the other day.
She asked me if I wanted to update her on me being queer and how I had come to the realisation.
What I told her went something like this:
"I don't feel like I'm 100% a woman.
At one point, I saw another person's Mastodon profile and it said "agender". When I read that word it felt like.... you know when you see these corny pictures of a palm tree on a beautiful beach and you think: Aaah, I'd like to be there right now... - That was the feeling that hit me when I read that word. My thought was: Wow, that must be so liberating, having no gender.
And then there's this thing that trans people say: if you want to have that gender; or non-gender; that's enough. You can just decide to be it.
I still feel a bit like an imposter sometime. But I'm working on it. (And from what I hear, many queer people have that feeling anyway.)"
--- So yeah, I might be going with "palm tree non binary" for a while. 🌴
