autism is visible to me sometimes, like how someone's standing or how someone dresses. but 95% of normies cannot tell. many autistics cannot tell someone else is autistic either.

sometimes I can hear autism. sometimes after just a few words, sometimes after a few minutes of talking, when someone is using learned speech patterns, being strangely expressive, unusually stressing words

but I'm really interested in this topic and am trained to do this. 95% of people will not be able to tell that someone is autistic. they don't understand there's a spectrum of expression. and if you open up and tell them, they might say "you don't look autistic at all".

additionally, many people with autism themselves do not know. there are many folks in their 30s getting a diagnosis after years of wondering why they are different. suddenly everything comes together and makes sense.

sadly in Germany there are very few psychotherapists and psychiatrists who know enough, have enough exposure to autistic patients, to be able to offer good help. there are some autistic (mostly women) who pursue degrees in psychology, but they don't become therapists, which is sad.
