Protests in front of Santa Barbara’s Tesla dealership have taken place for a few weeks, but this past Saturday’s was the largest yet.
About 225 people arrived to the demonstration organized by Indivisible,
waving signs against Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s involvement in the federal government at the invitation of the Trump administration.
“We were stunned,” said Carp Indivisible co-chair Carol Kernahan of the turnout.
Dozens of cars driving by honked in support with the occupants flashing thumbs up out the windows.
The protest line stretched to Calle Real at times during the two-hour demonstration.
Indivisible plans to hold the protest each Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.
