Does it actually let you connect to other instances? I remember there was a bunch of controversy over Eugene not displaying certain timelines in the official app.

Personally this is kinda disheartening. People clamoring around Mastadont or the new talking about “The Mastodon Network” completely shunts the reality that the Fediverse is made up of several different pieces of software in a much larger network.
