One of the worst things about our mobile carrier triopoly situation is that when one of them does a shitty thing, the other two immediately follow suit. When one raises prices, the other two raise prices. When one lessens or removes a benefit, the other two do likewise.
Sure, individually, each of them claim to have the best coverage and fastest speeds compared to the competition. But for all intents and purposes, in the United States, they operate as a cartel. They know it too, given how frequently they mislead and rip off their customers.
(Whether or not that can be proven in a court of law, I can’t say. But I doubt the federal government is interested in trying, given who heads the FCC and FTC nowadays. If only Lina Khan was still in power and doing her thing!)
