@patrickcmiller That was sponsored content. Not that it’s easy to tell. YouTube “influencers” label their SponCon more clearly than The Hacker News does.
At the very bottom it says “Found this article interesting? This article is a contributed piece from one of our valued partners.” It’s absurd how oblique that is. The authoring company PAID to place that. It’s that simple. And yet they use this vague, indirect language to say “contributed” by a “valued [business] partner”.
Anyways, article was rubbish too. It all boils down to (1) patch windows, and (2) look out for rogue systems on your network doing ad hoc, local name resolution.
