https://gnusocial.jp/url/4351065 Interesting ... a large majority of spiral galaxies are believed to rotate clockwise.
Our neighbor, Andromeda Galaxy, is believed to rotate counter-clockwise. https://sci.esa.int/web/gaia/-/61118-stellar-motions-in-the-andromeda-galaxy ... meanwhile, the Milky Way Galaxy is believed to rotate clockwise. https://gnusocial.jp/url/4351070
But I suppose another way of looking at it is which direction is galactic north? On Earth, the planet rotates counter-clockwise or west to east if north is "up". So maybe Milky Way's north is sort of "down" from our perspective.
