I keep reading general audience articles that say to avoid #microplastics in produce, peel your fruits and vegetables.
But I haven't seen studies that back this up. What I've read seems to indicate microplastics are found in peeled roots and fruits, as well as leaves and stems (e.g., link below).
This feels like non-expert writers "helpfully" extrapolating from pesticide avoidance advice, and/or AI slop.
Can anyone with field expertise advise?
