The fact that gaining twitter verification requires you to go through an Israeli tech company operating pretty much straight out of Tel Aviv, run by people with ties to Israeli military/intelligence (and who are presumably very ardent zionists) is peak levels of "i expected this to be the case but its still mindboggling".
