But aside of that, the more interesting thing is "wow, why did he get destroyed so badly?" and the answer is "because he was never that amazing, he just had a few tricks to beat the unjustified exceptions of the post-war america" and so now he is being attacked by people that simply have done the same to him - people that are defenders of the culture, instead of destroyers like him; but the mechanism is the same.
